At Refinery Music School, you’ll be able to sing the music you want to sing and be the singer you want to be. We will teach you reliable and effective vocal techniques and the musical skills that accompany this, helping you to excel in any style of music you choose.  

               

We have private one on one singing lessons, which are focused on discovering and developing your natural tone and abilities. We help you build upon your strengths and identifying areas for improvement. We have an extensive track record coaching beginners to advanced, prepping for auditions, recording sessions and live performances in various musical genres such as pop, R&B, rock, country, soul & musical theatre as well as many others.

               

We aim to open and expand your voice to enable you to sing with more confidence, emotion and dynamics, and to assist you in overcoming inhibitions, identifying, achieve and surpass your dreams and goals. All lessons begin with breathing exercises and vocal warm-ups. You will develop an awareness of your singing system as we establish basic vocal techniques including breathe control, pitch, range and beyond.

               

Lessons include assistance with song selection, finding the appropriate key, song interpretation, proper and accurate diction and microphone technique, performance training and general vocal mentoring. With your teachers’ guidance students can choose their own songs which are accompanied by either an instrumental backing track, live guitar or piano.

               

All our vocal coaches are highly qualified instructors, with real-world experience, impressive accolades and broad skill sets who are deeply passionate about teaching and nurturing students’ abilities. Prospective students need no prior experience. Of course, we welcome intermediate and advanced students, whether you are working to get to the next level, preparing for an audition, performing or recording an album. Our highly experienced vocal coaches are there to bring out the best in you.

               

We also invite and provide all our vocal students with the opportunity to perform at our mid-year & annual concerts. Whether you are seeking a new hobby, looking for some serious training, or broadening your education, we welcome you into our school. Our warm and inviting community like atmosphere will make you feel at home, no matter your age or skill level. We start our lessons as young as 5, through to adult age as well as retirement age adults looking for a new creative outlet or well-being activity.
