piano/Keyboards

The piano is regarded as one of the most important and versatile instruments of all time, with its history dating back 400 years. In addition to its use as a solo instrument, the piano is used to accompany singers and appears in ensembles of all sizes and virtually all styles of music.

The physical and mental benefits of playing music have long been recognised and more confirmed more recently by new scientific research. The piano, in particular, has been an unparalleled outlet for those seeking well-being, creative expression, and simply fun and joy. More evidence of the benefits of piano playing come to light periodically, linking music making to a healthy mind, body and life, and a general sense of well-being.

At Refinery School of Music we offer piano and keyboard lessons for all ages and levels. Our accomplished piano faculty consists of highly trained, dedicated and experienced teachers who have experience teaching and performing all styles, including classical, jazz, pop, rock, R&B, country, contemporary and musical theatre.

The study of piano provides younger and older students alike with a solid foundation in music theory and a natural transition to composition. The piano is also an excellent first instrument for students who may later wish to explore other instruments or to study voice.

We also invite and provide all our piano students with the opportunity to perform at our mid-year & annual concerts. Whether you are seeking a new hobby, looking for some serious training, or broadening your education, we welcome you into our school. Our warm and inviting community like atmosphere will make you feel at home, no matter your age or skill level. We start our lessons as young as 5, through to adult age as well as retirement age adults looking for a new creative outlet or well-being activity.
